J’ai abandonné la série télévisée après le premier épisode, avant de finir par la reprendre à partir de la quatrième saison. Je n’avais pas été passionnée par l’histoire, que l’on m’avait survendue, ni convaincue par les personnages. Aujourd’hui encore, je continue à suivre d’un œil parce que Matthieu le fait, mais je ne suis toujours pas captivée. Je ne sais pas pourquoi la redécouverte au format comics m’a beaucoup plus parlée. Probablement parce que j’ai immédiatement été conquise par le style de l’illustrateur Tony Moore ! Dans Passé décomposé, les émotions sont retranscrites avec talent et les illustrations servent parfaitement l’histoire. J’ai donc été déçue de voir qu’à partir du deuxième tome, Charlie Adlard reprenait les illustrations (bien que Moore continue à illustrer les couvertures) même si son style n’est pas mauvais non plus. Je trouve par exemple que Lori, qui avait un air amérindien dans le premier tome, change beaucoup physiquement et c’est dommage. Les trois tomes suivants sont donc illustrés par Adlard, alors que Moore s’occupe des couvertures.

Aussi, je trouve les personnages plus attachants ici que dans la série. Je ne sais pas si cela vient du fait que je l’ai rencontré quatre ans après tout le monde, mais j’ai par exemple du mal à comprendre l’engouement autour de Daryl Dixon (personnage qui n’existe que dans la série télévisée !). J’ai trouvé leurs histoires, leurs comportements et leurs personnalités plus intéressantes dans le comics.
